The cemetery was dark, misty and plagued with the spirits the of restless damned. Vergil walked along the slightly muddy terrain weaving between tombstones and in and out of shadows, watching as a few little white orbs floated along the air past him and he stopped his search to watch in a sort of macabre fascination as they danced along before disappearing into the mist.
Last time Vergil had wandered through the cemetery he had found himself facing off with a nun and because of that, his search for the seal that was supposedly somewhere on this land had been halted and abandoned for another time. So here he was again, walking as if he were a ghost as well in this dreary graveyard, the place just seemed to meant as the setting for a poem by the late Edgar Allen Poe, or perhaps a Vincent Price movie.
Even so the man didn't find the place as bad as most probably would, even as another few orbs appeared by him, floating along the mist and the light of the night's moon. His attention turned to the Cathedral that over shadowed the cemetery, standing like a dark sentinel in the cool night. Long ago he had heard that some sort of creature dwelled in the decrepit place, a ghost or a monster, but upon further digging he found that it was a fallen angel, and one who seemed to be against his plans.
As such the silver haired man had come prepared in case he was to come face to face with her, both a pair of blessed daggers and katana were on his person, along with Yamato. He was alert and on guard as he walked past the many different graves, ready for anything and everything as he continued his search for the marker of the seal, wondering if the fallen would show her face or not. Vergil wanted to see just how he'd fair against a fallen angel, it was a bit twisted but he thought it would be a good work out.

Night time again, it was still young but even then Shahal had already grown bored with demon hunting for the night, and after all what was the point of going out looking for them when they seemed to be finding her lately anyways. With that thought in mind Shahal had made her way home, only running into a few demons and taking them out without a second thought.
Having stepped into her own little haven she shrugged off the trench coat that she wore and stretched, before grabbing a random bottle out of her fridge and taking a long swing, grimacing slightly when she found it to be some very strong whiskey by the tell tale burn in her throat. It seemed like she had been drinking more and more to pass the time as of late and she was sure that it wasn't a very good thing, "Alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems" She muttered to herself and had another swing of the drink.
As she walked through the old building she caught her reflection in a mirror and stopped for a moment, she hated mirrors but something forced her to stay and look at herself. She had chosen to wear a white button up shirt along with a vest and sung pinstripe jeans with her boots, the effect was that she looked like a 70's punk with an affinity for weapons when it was coupled with her green hair, guns and sword.
Turning away Shahal decided that she'd rather be outside and went along with the idea, slipping out of a window and into the graveyard that sat behind the cathedral. It was such a foggy night out, foggier then normal, but then again what was normal anymore? Musing on the question slightly she climbed up onto the roof of an old mausoleum and crouched down spreading her wings a bit and taking another sip of the whiskey as she simply looked on over the cemetery.
That was when she spotted him, the man with the silver hair that stood watching the restless souls of the cemetery as they danced in the night. He looked just like Dante, so that meant that he was Vergil, and he seemed to be looking for something on her property, and her eyes widened, there was supposed to be a seal here, that was one of the reasons Shahal had shelled out so much cash for the place, well there was no way in hell she was going to let him open it.
"I know what you're looking for Vergil, and I'm not gonna let you get to it, not as long as I'm still able to move," Shahal said with a look of determination on her face, she took another swing before putting the bottle down and stepping off the mausoleum, landing lightly on her feet before walking to wards him with her guns drawn.

He tensed, Vergil could feel that someone was in the cemetery with him, but who and where? Whoever it was, wasn't human and had their eyes on him, that much he knew, but there really wasn't a point for him to actively search for the person in this dense fog that covered the graveyard, the only way to spot them would be from a good vantage point and standing on the muddy ground just wouldn't do.
If anything Vergil tensed even more so at the sound of someone talking to him, and he turned at the sound of the feminine voice to where he thought she was, chuckling slightly at her absurd statement. Was the girl challenging him? Vergil thought so, well being the gentleman he was how could he refuse it? "Do you really think you can stop me? I assume you're the fallen one that haunts these grounds then, what a watcher of the damned are you?" His tone was mocking as he watched her step out of the fog, walking to wards him.
So she had a pair of guns on her as well as a blade, well no matter, the girl could come at him with any and every weapon know in existence and it wouldn't be of much help to her, after all she was standing in the way of the seal which meant that she stood in the way of his goals, and Vergil could not have that.
"I would have to advise you to stand down girl," Vergil said to her as he unsheathed the other katana, the blessed one, and looked up the length of the blade appraisingly before pointing it at her, "You can't beat me, I wont allow it," Vergil all but hissed, his eyes narrowed as he took a stance, ready for her to attack.

"Yes, I am. What of it?"Shahal asked in a snippish sort of tone, if he wanted to mock her then she would be a sarcastic little thing right back to him, after all she wasn't trying to make friendly with the man either, not even if he was good looking. Maybe Shahal just had a thing for men with light hair, either way now wasn't the time for it.
She watched with narrowed eyes as he unsheathed the blade, and her grip only tightened on guns, her trigger finger itching to pull the trigger and blast him for trying to ruin everything that his father had worked so hard for, "Maybe I can or maybe I can't, but either way I sure as hell am gonna try!" Shahal had to be honest with herself, he had power and lots of it already and maybe she was being a bit foolhardy, but she would not could not stand down, not when she had it in her grasp the chance to stop him if not at least slow the man down.
Shahal pointed her guns at him, the air seemed to become thicker, heavier with the tension between the two, adrenaline was already coursing through her veins causing her senses to kick into high gear. It seemed that even the spirits of the dead could feel it as they all floated away when normally they would rally to the girl, all of a sudden the fog seemed to be more imposing then ever.
The shot rang out through the graveyard, almost symultaniously followed by another and another after that before Shahal flipped back and fired twice more, landing on a cross shaped tombstone before firing another volly of shots at the man through the mist and then she ceased movement, her body tense as she awaited what would come next.

He scowled slightly at her, so the girl really wanted to go through with this, she really wanted to face him. He had to give her credit though, she had more guts then most of the people in this town did to actually stand her ground against him, well it was either that or she was really stupid but there was something to the raw animalistic look in her eyes that told him it was more the former then the latter, "If I find this entertaining enough then perhaps I'll let you live after I beat you," He hoped that she wouldn't disappoint.
Vergil watched her with sharp eyes, crouching lower to the ground and tightening his grip on the katana as he readied himself for the attack that was sure to come. His muscles had tensed to the point that they would begin to ache soon if he didn't move, there was absolutely no way that he was going to lose, after all he needed to open the seal.
The sound of the gunshots rang in his ears as he side stepped the first two bullets, feeling the rush of air as they passed him by. With the katana in hand he sliced through the volley of bullets that were launched dead on to wards him, the bullets soon stopped, so it was his move now.
With a swish of his coat Vergil ran at the fallen that stood ironically on a cross shaped tombstone and drew his arm back before swinging at her repeatedly and then jumping back, again in his stance, her move now. It was like some sort of macabre game of chess the way that they were fighting, each trying to get a feel for the other and trying to find there weakness.

Damn, he's good Shahal thought as he sliced through the bullets with relative ease, he was fast and he knew how to handle a blade, in other words Shahal had better not try to hold back or he just might be able to kill her is what it translated to for the girl, she knew better then to underestimate whoever she went up against or to over estimate herself.
He came at her fast, faster then even most demons would be able to and she barely had the time to back flip off of the tombstone before he reduced the grave maker to bits of concrete and dust with his skillful swings. Even if she was fighting the man she couldn't help but to appreciate a good swordsman when she saw one, now if only he would put his abilities to good use, too bad Shahal figured that wouldn't happen.
As soon as he had jumped back Vergil had gone directly into his stance and Shahal took the time to note what she had learned about his fighting style thus far. The man was quick, his movements controlled, refined, and precise, he wouldn't waste movement if it wasn't necessary and Shahal figured that she would up the ante now, after all he wanted to be entertained and Shahal wasn't one to disappoint.
She looked at him, a determined glint in her eyes and in a split second she had taken off at a run to wards him, firing off another clip worth of bullets before jumping over his head and landing quickly aiming a kick at his lower back before unsheathing Shalem and swinging the blade down at him. It was amazing the effects that adrenaline had on a body, especially one that functioned better then normal regularly and it helped because Shahal decided that this battle would be all or nothing.

She had managed to dodge his last attack, this was looking more and more to be an actual challenge then. Vergil hadn't had one of those in a long time, most of the creatures he ran into where too slow, too weak for him or too cowardly to stay and fight the silver haired man, so this was rather refreshing to him.
Vergil studied her form for the few seconds that lasted between her next attack, she was fast and although her attacks seemed as refined as his there seemed to be an underlying anamilistic rawness to them, it was like she fought on the edge of being a berserker and he found that rather interesting, especially since it meant that she had self control and knew exactly what she was doing, his type of opponent.
Again Vergil dodged the first few shots before slicing the rest in half with the katana. He just barely managed to dodge the kick that had been aimed at his person, the girl was fast, but he didn't have time to focus on that as her sword was whistling as it threatened to cleave him in two and Vergil shot the katana up to block the other blade, the resounding clank of metal echoed off mausoleum walls and the force of the blow was enough to cause his teeth to rattle a bit. It was dangerous now, Vergil had underestimated her strength after all she didn't look as strong as that swing had actually been.
With a grunt he pushed back against her sword, his muscles straining slightly and he finally managed to knock it back before swiping his sword across her abdomen and doing a full three sixty, now it was his sword coming down on her in an arc that sung through the air, the blade glinting in the light of the moon.

The clang of metal hitting metal caused her ears to ring, she had forgotten just how loud the sound could be and grit her teeth at the fact that he had stopped the blow, well no one said this was going to be easy after all, and she really should be thinking that it might be, that would give her a false sense of security that Shahal was positive he'd use in his favor.
She stepped back as to not stumble when he pushed her sword off and back away from his. Shahal attempted to move back farther as he swiped the katana, but realized if she did then she would have landed flat on her back which would put her in a sever disadvantage and because of that steeled herself for the pain that was to come.
And pain it was, she had only figured it'd be the usual stinging sensation that accompanied a slash but this burned as well and her eyes went wide at the feeling. Raising Shalem up this time it was she who stopped the blow, her hand clenching the hilt and her other on the flat part of her blade as she growled, looking into his ice blue eyes, "I see you've done you're homework," Shahal remarked and motioned to wards his katana as she felt the warm blood begin to run down her stomach.
The pain was something else, she knew the sword had to have been blessed, nothing else could have that effect on her. When he had cut her, not only did it hurt in the normal sense but it had burned badly as well, and it was still burning. This put her at a sever disadvantage, not only did any sort of contact with her skin hurt like a bitch but it also slowed the healing process of her body to the point that she may as well have been human, actually it was even worse then that as she tended to bleed profusely when a blessed weapon was involved.
Striking out with another kick Shahal slipped her sword out from under his and back flipped away, landing to take a moment and survey the damage to her stomach. She glared back up at him and darted at the man again, crouching low and slashing at him quickly before vaulting herself over him and slashing at him again as soon as she landed.

He stared right back, holding her gaze with his own even as they looked at each other from between their respective blades, there was something dark in her eyes, but at the same time there seemed to be a spark of light, perhaps she wasn't just a fallen angel, "Yes, I did," Vergil replied with a smug sort of smirk on his face.
Vergil moved away from the kick, those boots looked like they would probably hurt a bit if they managed to make contact with any one of his ribs. She didn't seem too pleased by the revelation of the blade and he stood for a moment watching her as she looked down at the work had done on her, "It was blessed by seven priests right before I cut their heads off with my other blade," He said with a creepy sort of smirk on his face.
Stepping away from her slash was his mistake, she was moving faster then before it seemed, or perhaps he had moved a moment too slow. As soon as Vergil turned to face her, he was met by the feeling of cold steel biting into his arms and snarled as he parred the rest of the rest of the blows away.
The last of the blows he parred back with enough strength to knock himself away a moment and as soon as he recovered Vergil was on her again, slashing fast and jumping around her. She seemed to favor fast movements and so did he, now it was just a matter of seeing who was faster then the other. Stopping his onslaught for a moment he looked at her again, before attacking head on with a hard fast blow, wondering just how she'd fair against it because Vergil realized that holding back was not an option.

Shahal gave him a glowering look, "Just another way of showing how little God really cares about his flock," She muttered as he gloated on killing the priests, what should she care anymore? No longer did she hold the title of Archangel nor did she think that a priest should do anything for a demon. But really she had never truly cared for them, after all the clergy was as tainted as she was, they always had been in her opinion.
A look of mild satisfaction crossed her features at his snarl, glad that she had landed a blow to him, payback for the wound that continued to bleed on her stomach. That last parry though managed to knock her back another few paces as she stumbled to regain her balance, swinging her sword back into position by her side only to find herself the victim of Vergil's onslaught, to which she managed to successfully block or parry most of his attacks but a few found their way through, resulting in some cuts here and there on her arms and legs that burned and bled.
As soon as he stepped away from her Shahal instinctively fell into a defensive stance, knowing that he would come at her and he did just that. Shahal smirked and ran for him as well, meeting him in the middle blade for blade with enough force that she felt the bones in her arms buckle at the pressure being put on them.
For a moment she stood locked with him, staring him down, would he make the next move or would she do it? Decisions, decisions. Her eyes flashed, glinting deviously as she purred out the next words, and not to Vergil either but to her sword, "Shalem, extend," She commanded as she pushed him away and jumped back.
The sword's blade had gone lax, extending on a wire so that it now looked like a bladed whip instead of a sword. She grinned and flicked her wrist at the man, the sword moved like a whip now, rolling up to slash at his chest and she flicked it again, causing it to move at his shoulder before pulling it back, twirling it in quick circles by her side.

His legs quaked and his boots dug into the ground as he faced down the blow, Vergil felt his muscles automatically seize up to keep him in place from the impact but it still jarred him although he would never let that on. But he was mildly amused that she would meet the blow with her own, and that she would actually be able to withstand that impact was a bit of a feet for a woman in his book.
Vergil was staring her down in much the same way she was doing to him. This was an interesting female to say the least, simply because she wasn't a god damned damsel in distress type, no the creature that stared him down knew how to actually take care of herself and he found that rather enticing really, or that was to say that the demon inside of him did for the simple reason that it figured she'd probably be the same way in the bedroom and he had to stop the smirk that threatened to appear on his face at the idea of breaking her there.
Too bad he had let his mind wander and his eyes did let past a momentary flash of confusion as she spoke then barely managed to keep from stumbling as she pushed him back. What the hell was with her sword?!? Was the only real thought that made it through his head, really now he had never heard of anything like it before and because of that didn't notice until it was too late that the thing was moving straight to wards him.
Although Vergil had managed to move back, he couldn't move back enough to avoid the hit and grit his teeth as it tore through his vest and cut up his chest, and then before he could even register that the blade was at him again, moving in a way that he hadn't even seen a whip do, it sliced into his shoulder and Vergil wasn't very happy about that, at all.
Blue eyes narrowed he watched intently as she spun it around, as if winding up for another attack. She had caught him off guard once before and it definitely wouldn't be happening again, not when he knew that little trick of hers now. He simply needed to find an opening in the way she swung the sword/whip around and he'd have her as Vergil already had a plan brewing to break the girl. It was almost a pity really, to have to do such a thing, but she needed to learn her place yet then again he almost hoped she'd be able to survive it, after all it was fun toying with her. Vergil thought that even as he felt blood ooze down his arm from the wound on his shoulder, he would have fun with her.
As the man continued to watch her movements he picked out the one moment that he might actually be able to get through to and ran at her, his katana at the ready. As soon as the whip moved back up the circle he shoved the blade in the way and wrapped her blade around his before twisting around and then he moved to plant them both into a tombstone and let go, before quickly turning, sending a punch at the girls face and then running after her.

A dark smirk appeared on her face, the look of a demon in her eyes as the sword ripped through her opponent's flesh. The scent of his blood mixed in the thick air with hers and Shahal felt a tinge of a different sort of excitement move up her spin at that, it was almost erotic to the demon inside of her.
She continued to move the whip in circles, it was actually a different stance that could be used to move into many another attack, unfortunately it made it a bit harder to block. Shahal blinked, the fog seemed to have intensified during their battle without her having noticed, but at the moment she blinked it seemed that Vergil had moved to attack her and she growled, instinctively knowing that she was rather screwed and that whatever came next she wasn't going to be fast enough to stop.
His next move was daring, and it definitely worked against her, in all her years no one had ever thought of doing something like that. As the man wrapped her sword around his and tugged Shahal felt the hilt slide from her grip and to her complete and utter annoyance watched as he planted both into a grave marker, there was no way of getting Shalem back right now especially since the other sword was blessed which meant that she couldn't touch it.
And of course the next thing Shahal knew his fist was connecting solidly with her jaw and there was no way for her to roll with it as the force knocked her off her feet and sent her flying, decimating a few tombstones on the way, she only stopped when her back connected with the thick stone wall of a mausoleum. Bringing a hand up she dug her thick pointed claw like nails into the stone and pulled herself up from the heap she had landed in, cracking her dislocated jaw back in place she could feel that her wings had taken the brunt of most of the impact as her blood was already tending to the wounds it could fix on her back.
With a snarl she cracked her back and brushed bits of concrete and dust out of her hair, glaring at Vergil defiantly as she finally managed to stand up straight with out the aid of the building, unfortunately her movement was limited due to a few sharper bits of concrete embedded into her legs and tail. Since Shahal couldn't move her tail at the moment she couldn't balance well at all, but prepared herself to attack him again as he walked into arms reach. She sent a punch at him, but was sure she'd miss, still she couldn't go down without a fight and swiped upward at an angel from his hip to his chest with her long claw like nails.

As Vergil ran over to where she had landed he watched her stand back up with that defiant look in her eyes and smirked, so she still had some fight in her, even with the wounds that he had inflicted that still bleed on her, there was a trail of blood leading right to her, and Vergil was sure her body would probably give out before her will did.
It wasn't a very hard thing to simply dodge the punch, her movements were shaky and off balance but he hadn't expected that last swipe and clenched his jaw at the pain that spiked to wards his brain as those claws of hers left long, bleeding trails up from his hip to his shoulder, shredding through his vest. Well Vergil was glad that that he owned more then just the one at the moment because it was looking unsalvagable now, but there was still the fact that he hadn't expected that small burst of speed and strength in her, then again, she did seem wild enough for it.
With one swift movement Vergil grabbed her vest and pulled her forward into another punch, slamming his fist into her bleeding abdomen before pulling back and swinging at her face one more time, only this time he held on to her to make sure she stayed in place. Finally satisfied with the damage done he slammed her back wards onto the wall of the mausoleum and restrained her by holding her arms out at her sides, "I wonder if that devil in your eyes will still be there after this? He purred and let go of one of her hands to reach down and grab a dagger before dragging the tip up her curves and made to put it through her hand, trying to pin her hand down to the mausoleum before attempting to do the same with the other.

Shahal felt the cloth and skin break under her nails, could practically taste the metallic copperish taste of his blood as if it had been on her lips and not just on her fingertips and it made a small few of those feelings of excitement form again, trailing up along her spine, it was something that she could only get in the middle of a battle, something that she hadn't felt in a long while.
She had tried to move, to duck, anything but Shahal simply couldn't move fast enough to get out of his grasp and when he jabbed at her stomach not only did he open the wound some more but he also knocked the wind out of her, the pain was intense and before she could recover any she was being pummeled by his fist and she couldn't do a damn thing to stop him.
Finally the barrage ended, but Shahal found herself being slammed against the wall behind her hard enough that she bounced a bit, growling at the pain that webbed through her already battered body.
She looked at him, her gaze steady even as she felt blood loss begin to take it's toll on her, "Do your worst love, go ahead and try to break me. My devils are here to stay," She growled out with as much bravado as she could muster, only to have it followed by a pained hiss as the blade of a blessed dagger slide completely through her hand, pinning it to the mausoleum, she attempted to pull it out but as soon as she touched the hilt her other hand began to burn and she pulled back with a snarl only to have that hand pinned down in the same manner and this time she bit her lip so hard it bled to withhold the pained scream that threatened to spill from her lips as she fell limp, only being held up by the daggers that skewered her palms.

Amazing, he couldn't help but smirk at her, even then there was still fight in her, still a fire to the girl. Too bad that her body could no longer take the strain, after all he was all but standing in a small puddle of blood that was for for the most part all hers. It was admirable, and slightly foolish at the same time but Vergil had never seen this type of fire in a woman before, it interested him to no end, "Tell me, what is your name, and do not lie to me fallen one," He commanded of the crucified woman.
After a few more moments of just watching her he stepped a bit closer, stooped down so that he was by her ear, "Try not to die little angel, I want to be able to have the chance to break that lovely little spirit of yours as well as your body," Vergil purred out to her, it was a depraved sort of thing he was feeling but he couldn't help it, the devil in him wanted to tarnish whatever was left of her purity, wanted to destroy it and make it his own, it was an animalistic sort of thing found in the most basic of his instincts and Vergil really couldn't help it.
He stepped away from her and slinked away into the mist, dawn would be breaking soon and Vergil wanted to open the seal before the light of a new day, but he stopped and sparred her one last glance before he continued walking finding a macabre beauty in her pain that made him smirk even as he found the marker for the seal and set about to giving the demon that dwelled within back it's name. It had been a long night and Vergil wanted nothing more then to go back to the tower and relax.
Even as he made his way out of the cemetery Vergil thought to himself that he would have to stop by one day, to see if she had managed to survive the fight, after all it had been entertaining and if she had lived, then he figured that there could be more fun to be had.
