&
Her least used weapon, a sniper rifle.
She rarely wears it along with her, though, usually when expecting any form of danger brings it along. Mostly used for long distances but there are instance's when she has used it in close range.
Abilities:
A temporary pain blockage. Having been taught only enough to keep herself alive, Adeline has some knowledge of the human pressure points and when in pain or discomfort, she is able to manipulate the points into blocking any negative feeling. Though she is not able to heal wounds, she is able to suppress pain long enough until getting the necessary help.
History:
Adeline grew up along side her parents and younger sister. They're family not the closest to say in the least. It was the typical dysfunctional family any child had she was sure. There was plenty of yelling, plenty of hitting. There were moments of peace, hours of abuse, more moments of peace which was well deserved after the bruises inflicted. Adeline was but twelve years old, as for her sister, only nine. There were many outbursts. Mainly from her father. Though the day had come when the simple outburst everyone had grew to get used to and submit to, had grown to become murder. Her father went for her mother first. Adeline having grabbed her sister and running into the nearest room. Minutes have passed and Adeline only could have guessed that her mother wasnt so easy to put down. Her father had always had a history of mental disorders, though the medication had always put it in check, but not lately. He came knocking at the door at first, before banging and punched until finally he just broke down the piece of wood that was only for privacy, not safety. He came in with a steak knife, blood on its tip, though Adeline knew her mother wasn't dead for she had come running behind him.
Her younger sister was first, the most vulnerable. Brutally slashed at, but never stabbed, just cut, cut many times. She was alive afterwards though, her eyes on Adeline as she reached a hand towards her, tears streaming down her face. Adeline going to reach for her hand, but was ripped away by her father. The screams became so thick, there was no room for air in that room. All the while her weak mother tried but couldnt, multiple times going to the phone to call the police, multiple times threatened by Adeline's father that he would kill them all. Having Adeline by the back of her shirt, she whimpered, only to have her be yanked out of the room and slammed into the hallway wall opposite of the doorway. Her mother running to the youngest child as she watched helplessly from the sidelines. That steak knife that had become blood in solid form in Adeline's eyes became the scariest thing. Her father, roughly picked her up again, a kind smile on his face as he promised a way out of the complications of the world. He explained to her in detail how it was all to go down, but Adeline doesn't remember.
Bringing her with him, they went to the kitchen, he turned on the gas on the oven, letting the gas fill the air. Adeline struggled out of his grip, screaming. He yelled at her and slammed her to the floor. She lay there aching, and her father sat right on top of her. She could hear him going through the drawer where they kept the knives. He told her that he wants her to have clean cuts, the ragged ones he left on her sister were so ugly, he kept saying. He took the sharpest one they had, bending over as she struggled for air under his weight. Its when he cut just under her eye near the cheekbone. She would have screamed, but the air was crushed from her lungs. Adeline blacked out just then. She woke up to roaring fires and heat against her skin. She was laying in the driveway, her eyes opening to the scene of her house on fire. Her parents and sister burned along with the house that day.
She had cried on that driveway for what seemed to be forever. She couldn't run, her legs ached, she couldn't scream, her head hurt, she couldn't call out for help, her throat was too dry. Amidst her crying, she felt a hand on her back, when she flinched and looked up the tears had blurred her vision but bright yellow eyes stared back at her. Not the normal human eyes, but an almost glowing yellow stare. Before she could get a good look, the feel of the hand, the glowing yellow, all disappeared. Since then, she had been living with her grandmother, always wondering of the eyes. Whether it had been a figment of her imagination, she didn't care, till this day, she still wonders about it, though has not pursued to look for it. It had saved her, she could tell, but if it wanted to be found, she would find it eventually.
